Reflect on your research topic and identify the most compelling issue connected to it. Clearly explain what the issue is and discuss why you find it particularly interesting or important. Support your response with specific details from your research.

Prompt Response:  My research topic was the impact of personal technology on mental health and our question was how technological connectivity affects young peoples mental health. The issue with this topic is that there are many positive and negative effects. As I was reading through my source, some said that most research resulted in a low correlation between social media usage and the negative effects of it. However, many research has been done on this topic and many found that social media leads to low self-esteem, less focus and other negative effects. This topic offers many perspectives and points of view which makes it complicated to condense the information into one argument. For example, one source argued that the most important thing about technology is not the amount of screen time rather the content consumes and the mindset behind social media usage. I find this to be interesting because it allowed me to see different perspectives and points of view on this topic.  ...

What challenges did your group face while selecting and analyzing sources, and how did you overcome them? Be specific about how your group communicated and worked through disagreements.

Prompt Response:  Some of the challenges my group faced was finding sources that would best suit our research question because most of the sources had very useful information that could be used in our research. We came into agreement after talking about what the source provided. Each of us gave our opinions on how the source answered the question.  Summary: We didn't have class today. Reflection: Didn't meet today

What strategies have you and your group used to ensure that all members are actively contributing to group assignments? Explain how you communicate, divide responsibilities, and hold each other accountable throughout the process.

Prompt Response:  Me and my group communicated and asked for each others opinions while we gathering our sources. We communicated on what type of Source we could do, then we summarized our own sources to figure out which source would be best fit. After we came into agreement on which source we would use and then worked together to figure out a quote. We shared ideas as we continued working. This process was repeated until we finished.  Summary: We worked on gathering our 7 sources for our project and turn in the 2 worksheets.  Reflection:  Finish blog post and finished 2 worksheets

How has completing the annotated bibliography changed or clarified your understanding of your research topic? Discuss how your sources connect to one another and how they are shaping your argument moving forward.

Prompt Response: Completing the annotated bibliography changed and clarified my understanding of the research topic by allowing me to see how research truly works and things to consider when doing research. Most of my sources talk about the negative impacts of technology use on teens, but I was able to find others that opened a new perspective on how studies work, things to consider for when trying to find the effects of something. These new perspectives have shown me that I should consider new ways to approach my argument from trying to find the negative effects but also the positive and different variables to consider.   Summary: Today we continued working on out annotated bibliography  Reflection: I will finish it before Sunday

Which part of the annotated bibliography (summary, reflection, or evaluation) was the most challenging for you, and why? Explain how that challenge helped you grow as a researcher and how it will help you when writing your research paper.

Prompt Response:   The summary was the most challenging for me because found many source that have great and reliable information but were very lengthy. However, as I gathered and skimmed through the sources, I was able to effectively summarize the major points of the article. On the longer sources, I was able to pick the most important parts of the research, read the introduction and their goals, and read the conclusion, to come up with a summary. Summary: Today we started our annotated bibliography.  Reflection:  I will continue working on it.

As you gathered sources, you were expected to find multiple perspectives on your topic. What differences did you notice between your sources? Explain how these differences helped you better understand the complexity of your issue.

Prompt Response:  As I gathered sources, I noticed that there are many ways that researchers approach the effects of technology on young people. One article explain that the content consumed is the most important when it comes to determining whether it has negative effects on teens mental health. However, most articles I found argue that levels of screen time affect young peoples mental health. These differences showed me that there are many positive and negative effects of technological us, but there are also many ways to approach research studies and it is difficult to come to a conclusion with many perspectives and variables to consider. Summary: Today we continued researching for more sources on our topic.  Reflection: I will finish gathering sources before Thursday.

Think about your experience using GALILEO to find sources. How was this different from how you have searched for information in the past? Explain how using specific search strategies and evaluating sources impacted the quality of what you found.

Prompt Response : Using GALILEO has helped me find more creditable and reliable sources when doing research on a topic. Using this website is different from the past because I use to just Google information and it was difficult to find reliable sources, but with GALILEO I trust that most of the information is reliable and peered review. Using specific search strategies has helped find high level sources that are reliable for my research.  Summary : Today we started researching the sources we will use for the project. Reflection : I will continue searching for sources
